Kristine’s Birthday Plans

On October 27th I will be turning 21, so like every other coming-of-age person I wanted to do something incredible and memorable for it. Luckily, there happens to be a pretty awesome Halloween themed music festival happening in California two days after. This year, for my 21st birthday, my boyfriend Lolo and I will be going California for the first time to attend Insomniac’s Escape Psycho Circus music festival in San Bernardino. This is the first time that I’m going to a music festival outside of Texas, and I am so excited that I almost can’t contain myself! Also, this is the very first time that I will be getting on a plane and flying anywhere! I mean, who wouldn’t want to take a vacation on their 21st, drink on a plane, and run off to California for a few days?

I’ve been to a few festivals in the past like Something Wicked, Something Wonderful, Lights All Night, Euphoria, Mad Decent Block Party, and Haunted Fest, but none of those will compare to Escape. I can without a doubt say I am more excited for this festival than any that I’ve been to before. I remember getting the tickets in the mail not too long ago, and they look amazing. Insomniac loves to go all out on theme and decoration. This year the Escape tickets looked like vintage circus admit one tickets, and were holographic. Awesome! Just seeing the tickets makes me so stoked to go! When I look at the line up though, my excitement just sky rockets. The artists that I’m most excited to see are Andrew Rayel, Benny Benassi, Cloud Von Stroke, Dash Berlin, Duke Dumonte, Eric Prydz, Jauz, Kaskade, Kayzo, Mercer, Snails, Tchami, Yellow Claw, and Zomboy.

Escape comes complete with terrifying mazes to navigate, fortune tellers, and even a burlesque show! I can’t wait to get inside and see what those mazes are about; I’ve only been to one kiddie haunted house before so they’ll be a very memorable experience. The thought of getting on a plane and flying is pretty daunting, and scary stuff makes me cringe, but it’s going to be awesome! This vacation is going to be the absolute best 21st birthday celebration, ever! Have you ever been to a music festival? What did you do for your 21st birthday? Check back later and I’ll be sure to let you all know how it went!
